Travis Kuhn, the owner of Vicious Virgin and a multi-award winning bartender, has just obtained a new accolade to add to his collection by being named South Africa\u2019s Most Influential Cocktail Personality in DrinksFeed\u2019s Top 20 in 2020 list<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The list was compiled based on votes from 50 drinks industry leaders, Kuhn\u2019s peers, making it high \u2013 and heartfelt \u2013 praise.<\/p>\n

The Vicious Virgin<\/h4>\n

Along with co-owners Kelby Schnetler and Leah van Deventer, who also made the list at number 19, Kuhn has just opened a hot new tiki bar in Cape Town called Vicious Virgin.<\/p>\n

Vicious Virgin is the city\u2019s first tiki bar, one dedicated to rum heavy, French Polynesian inspired cocktails famed for their kick. It is named after a classic tiki cocktail that contains two kinds of rum, Cointreau, falernum and fresh lime juice.<\/p>\n

The Polynesian Pearl Diver<\/h4>\n

Vicious Virgin follows on from Kuhn\u2019s pop-up bar, the Polynesian Pearl Diver, which won best pop-up bar two years running at the BAR Awards.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur pop-up, the Pearl, was named after a classic tiki drink, The Polynesian Pearl Diver, which is a very magoo way of thinking tiki, beach, with sunny skies, blue water, and palm trees. The Vicious Virgin, also the name of a classic tiki drink, will be the darker, edgier sister.\u201d said Kuhn.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Cocktail Personality, Travis Kuhn<\/h4>\n

And of being named South Africa\u2019s Most Influential Cocktail Personality, he said, \u201cIn the company of cocktail kings, just to be in the conversation is an honour, but to be on the top is truly unbelievable!\u201d<\/p>\n

Kuhn is no stranger to awards, with his many achievements including BAR Awards Bartender of the Year for 2019<\/a>, Inverroche Pioneers winner 2019 and Diageo World Class winner 2018, in addition to a string of flair competitions dating back to 2001.<\/p>\n
