the father of South African gin<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s1\"><b>Dr. Anna Trapido<\/b>\u00a0&#8211; wine and spirits judge and food anthropologist<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s1\"><b>Thierry Lubala<\/b>\u00a0&#8211; mixologist at South Africa\u2019s largest gin bar at Asara Estate<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s1\"><b>Jean Buckham<\/b>\u00a0&#8211; owner of The Gin Box, a craft gin club showcasing different SA craft gins<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s1\"><b>Hanneli van der Merwe<\/b>\u00a0&#8211; oenologist and co-owner of Barker &amp; Quin Mixers<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s1\"><b>Tammy Frazer<\/b>\u00a0&#8211; perfumer and owner of Frazer Parfum<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0The competition is the largest gin competition in the country and the only dedicated competition for <a href=\"https:\/\/test10.co.za\/C\/standout-south-african-gin-brands\/\">craft gin distillers in South Africa<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Commenting on the awards, Roger Jorgensen said: \u201cSouth African gin distillers are superb when they ace it as they develop their own style and techniques. Given the plethora of wonderful botanicals here it is no wonder that the Cape is the new Gin Capital of the world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0On the future of the gin industry in South Africa he added: \u201cThe future is bright and SA can be a global player, it has only just begun.
