Pernod Ricard is joining forces once again with a passionate entrepreneur, Lorna Scott, Founder and CEO of Inverroche Gin. It was recently announced that Lorna will continue her stewardship of this uniquely South African brand, as both a shareholder and CEO of Inverroche as the two join forces.<\/p>\n

Local Luxury<\/h4>\n

The deal is significant for the local economy as it demonstrates a vote of confidence in South Africa’s economic prospects and highlights the ability of local female entrepreneurs to create world-class luxury brands which are made in Africa.<\/p>\n

Origins of Inverroche Gin<\/b><\/h4>\n

Inverroche Gin was founded by Lorna Scott in December 2011 in the southern Cape coastal village of Still Bay, where it has gone from small home industry to the largest South African artisanal Gin brand in just 8 short years.<\/p>\n

Inverroche Gin pioneered the use of indigenous, aromatic botanicals known as \u201cFynbos\u201d from the Western Cape. This is where it gets its unique taste and full-bodied flavours from.<\/p>\n

Preserving our Heritage<\/h4>\n

Fynbos has long been used by indigenous people for medicinal and culinary purposes but is now under threat due to agricultural development and invasive alien plants.<\/p>\n

Lorna felt that one way of preserving this unique biome would be to find a sustainable, commercial use for it and to create a global brand which would tell the story of these historically significant plants.<\/p>\n
