I hope guests will enjoy the food and atmosphere as much as our staff have enjoyed mastering this wonderful service tradition.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h4>Classics Revived at the Lord Nelson Restaurant<\/h4>\n<p>Chef Rudi\u2019s new menu is bold and brimming with classic choices, such as, Beef Wellington made from pasture-reared beef fillet from Spier\u2019s Farmer Angus, covered with a braised short rib, prosciutto and mushroom duxelle, encased in light puff pastry and other popular dishes &#8211; Caesar salad, steak tartare, prawn cocktail and cr\u00e8me brul\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"rir-row\"><div class=\"rir-cols-2\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/test10.co.za\/C\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/chef-rudi-and-chef-dion.jpg\" \/><\/div><div class=\"rir-cols-2\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/test10.co.za\/C\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/scallops-lord-nelson-4x6.jpg\" \/><\/div><\/div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-70164\" src=\"https:\/\/test10.co.za\/C\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/carpaccio-lord-nelson.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" srcset=\"https:\/\/test10.co.za\/C\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/carpaccio-lord-nelson.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/test10.co.za\/C\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/carpaccio-lord-nelson-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/test10.co.za\/C\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/carpaccio-lord-nelson-940x627.jpg 940w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Entr\u00e9e of herb-crusted roast rack of Karoo lamb with cauliflower Mornay and main of crown roasted chicken served with chicken thigh tortellini and a trolley laden with unusual cheeses for dessert; all feature on the special tableside menu.<\/p>\n<h4>Dine with a Sense of History<\/h4>\n<p>Belmond Mount Nelson\u2019s General Manager, Xavier Lablaude, reminds us that the room dates back to the hotel\u2019s inauguration in 1899, when it was the original dining hall, and where Noel Coward, Rudyard Kipling, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Marlene Dietrich would have once soaked up its atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-70160\" src=\"https:\/\/test10.co.za\/C\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/lord-nelson-restaurant-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/test10.co.za\/C\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/lord-nelson-restaurant-1.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/test10.co.za\/C\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/lord-nelson-restaurant-1-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/test10.co.za\/C\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/lord-nelson-restaurant-1-940x564.jpg 940w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Xavier says, \u201cMore recently this is the room where in 1994, then-President Nelson Mandela welcomed international leaders for the first World Economic Forum to be held on African soil.
