The Kove Collection is well known in Cape Town for it\u2019s superbly placed restaurants and bars, offering visitors spectacular views of the coastline and food and drinks to match. The latest addition has been a while in the making; what was once Pepenero, has now been transformed into the uber stylish and colourful, Bobo\u2019s Brasserie.<\/p>\n

All the Views<\/h4>\n

The design of the restaurant has cleverly made use of every available inch of the sea view, with floor to ceiling glass windows and a section of the glass windows that opens up.\u00a0On warm days a beautiful breeze cools the restaurant and when the colder weather arrives, it\u2019ll still be super snug inside.<\/p>\n

There is also a small shaded outdoor area for those days where the city really shines.<\/p>\n

The Look<\/h4>\n

The interior is unmistakably Kove Collection, with the groups signature style evident. The wallpaper is the standout feature though and the colourful vintage blooms set against black is so striking that you can\u2019t help but be entranced by it.<\/p>\n

Leather banquettes in a gorgeous emerald green line the walls and the bar area is completed by a quirky lounge with mismatched lampshades as a feature. Bright blue subway-style tiles and colourful furnishings make the whole restaurant feel vibrant, alive and welcoming.<\/p>\n

The Menu<\/h4>\n

As the name brasserie suggests, the food is classically French inspired, with featured dishes such as French Onion Soup, Escargot and Bouillabaisse.<\/p>\n

The French Onion soup was one of the dishes we opted to start with and it was a table favourite \u2013 deliciously jammy onion soup with a crusty bread and gruyere topping.<\/p>\n

We also tucked into the steak tartare with confit egg yolk, scooped up on sourdough toast until every last morsel was gone.<\/p>\n

Paired with a bottle of the house Glen Carlou Chardonnay, we enjoyed a beautifully cooked trout main and a juicy rib-eye with tarragon bearnaise. As a side, we couldn\u2019t pass up the Potato Dauphinoise and this delicately layered potato dish was a standout.<\/p>\n

It Must be Br\u00fbl\u00e9e<\/h4>\n

For dessert, the cr\u00e8me br\u00fbl\u00e9e was a no brainer and it was silky smooth with the perfect caramelised sugar glass top. The Lemon Tart was also divine, a mini tartlet with a zing citrus curd that was also br\u00fbl\u00e9ed, served with a refreshingly tart raspberry sorbet that we just loved.<\/p>\n

Why You Should Visit<\/h4>\n

Besides the vibe and stunning views, the food and drinks menu offers something for every palate. The service was excellent and the whole space seems to manage to balance a level of opulence with accessibility, not an easy feat.<\/p>\n

We loved the pretty plating, generous portions and relaxed atmosphere. Bobo\u2019s Brasserie is special enough for a celebratory meal and still accessible enough for a catch up with friends or a treat for your better half.<\/p>\n

Wondering about the name?<\/strong>\u00a0Bobo\u2019s is derived from a French slang word, meaning hipster. A tongue-in-cheek reference to a member of a social class of well-to-do professionals who espouse bohemian values and lead bourgeois lives.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
