Obi is the love-child of legendary Papa San of Takumi and his protege and co-founder, Ben Bettendorf. For authentic Japanese sushi and cuisine, this is the spot that you need to try. The menu comprises of classic maki rolls, sashimi and numerous inside out rolls with so many delish combos. They also have the best tempura veg in town hands down.<\/p>\n

Any sushi fanatic will be familiar with Beluga. This upmarket establishment is housed in the iconic Old Foundry on Prestwich Street. The century-old Art Deco block is the perfect setting for beautiful servings of sushi in the courtyard during the summer. During the winter, a marquee is erected in the courtyard and multiple gas heaters are dotted between tables to keep you toasty. The interior is equally impressive.<\/p>\n

If you aren\u2019t clued up on this spot, don\u2019t doubt your mad sushi-spotting skills, this place is pretty well hidden and unbeknownst to most Capetonians. The secret? It\u2019s perched inside The Rockwell Hotel, well-out of plain sight. This is straight-up authentic Japanese cuisine and the food speaks for itself. Celebrated chef, Agata Koga, has masterfully crafted his passion on sushi plates.<\/p>\n

Willoughby\u2019s is somewhat of an institution in Cape Town. Even if you\u2019ve never eaten at Willoughby\u2019s you\u2019ll know at least 5 people who have and they\u2019ll tell you that it\u2019s the best sushi in Cape Town. The only presumable downfall of this sushi spot is that it\u2019s inside a mall, however, the vibe inside is great and your chopsticks will be too busy for you to worry about where you are.<\/p>\n

We love Sushi Box. Firstly, because there’s a branch on the doorstep of Crush HQ, and secondly, we reckon they have some of the best sushi in Cape Town. These guys serve up fresh, clean and delish sushi that isn\u2019t too heavy on the bank. Even better? They have 5 different locations and all are equally amazing. For a laid back vibe with top-class gourmet sushi, Sushi Box is your best bet.<\/p>\n

There are so many yum options that you’ll find it hard to pick \u2013 our recommendation is that you have sushi, along with some of the small tapas plates and enjoy the vibe.<\/p>\n

The newly revamped space offers earthy, walnut tones inside that contrast the bright, semi-outdoor area which is filled with natural light and outdoor plants. Apart from the extensive sushi menu, Sevruga offers dim sum, an array of starters, seafood dishes and meat dishes too.<\/p>\n
