Pesto Princess was born 20 years ago in the kitchen of Capetonian, Kathleen Quillinan. Since then, the iconic pesto jar has found its regular place in foodie fridges across South Africa. The business has weathered the challenging journey from craft market trader to national supermarket and restaurant supplier.<\/p>\n

Today, Pesto Princess has a team of 60, all working at the \u2018Palace\u2019 where an extensive range of homemade pesto sauces, pastes, soups and dips is produced and distributed throughout South Africa.<\/p>\n

The creative team at Pesto Princess agonised over this new pesto in the range. Should it have cheese like the popular Thai Pesto, or shouldn\u2019t it? After endless tasting sessions the team unanimously voted for the vegan version. There was so much flavour delivered by the fresh basil and green chillies alone, that the new product simply did not need pecorino. In fact, it tasted far better without it.<\/p>\n
