The brothers Klein, Adam and Joel, have lent their family name to the much loved Kleinsky\u2019s Deli in Sea Point. Serving up amazing bagels, latkes and other Jewish fare, they\u2019ve become a staple for many in the area.<\/p>\n

Kleinsky\u2019s Deli Church Square<\/h4>\n

For a little while, there were whispers on the wind of expansion and townies will be glad to know that Kleinsky\u2019s has indeed expanded with a second branch having opened in Church Square on Parliament Street in the CBD. Open from Monday \u2013 Saturday, so servicing businesses in the area, as well as those looking for a quiet respite on a Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

What to Expect<\/h4>\n

The deli very much mirrors the Sea Point branch in look and feel and serves up the same delicious fare. The contemporary space is light and bright with the signature Kleinsky\u2019s light wood detail and copper finishings.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s really lovely about the new space is that it has an outdoor area complete with umbrella covered tables which overlook Church Square. It\u2019s the perfect spot for a bit of people watching, while you sip on a perfectly brewed Deluxe coffee.<\/p>\n

The Food<\/h4>\n

If you haven’t sampled Kleinsky\u2019s food, you are missing out. Trust me. They have a tried and tested selection of food and it is always consistently good, which is not easy to come by in the flighty world of restaurants in Cape Town.<\/p>\n

For breakfast I highly recommend their latke Benedict, it is my go-to. Perfectly crispy potato cakes topped with poached eggs and Hollandaise sauce. You can also opt for salmon, lamb bacon (yes, it a thing), spinach or pastrami. I\u2019m always in my fried-potato-happy-place with this dish \u2013 crispy, not oily and just yum.<\/p>\n

The bagels are, of course, also always a win, and despite the fact that I\u2019d really like to try some of the other options available, it’s almost impossible to bypass the California Bagel, cream cheese, salmon, a hit of wasabi and pickled ginger. It\u2019s a punchy\u00a0wake up and I just love it.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re in for lunch, another classic option is The Reuben \u2013 a generous amount of beef pastrami, melted Swiss cheese and sauerkraut sandwiched between 2 buttery toasted slices of rye bread. Served up with housemade pickles.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve got a sweet tooth, tuck into a slice of NY style cheesecake with a choc mint base. It\u2019s a total winner.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re lucky enough to work in the area pop down for breakfast or lunch. If you\u2019re looking for somewhere on a Saturday for a great coffee and brekkie, we can\u2019t recommend Kleinsky\u2019s enough. We also love that they\u2019re pooch-friendly, so if you have a well-behaved and smallish furry friend, they\u2019re welcome too.<\/p>\n
