Lust Bistro & Bakery at Vrede en Lust Wine Estate\"Winelands<\/h4>\n

The picturesque setting at Lust is perfect for a Sunday luncheon. Nestled beneath the Simonsberg mountains, this estate, meaning \u201cpeace and delight\u201d, offers just that.<\/p>\n

The beautiful little bistro is housed within a farm-style cottage with warm wooden walls. Outside is a gorgeous, sunny green terrace that looks out towards the mountains for those warm summer days. On the first Sunday of every month, this gem hosts a lunch buffet with a variety of seasonally-changing dishes as well as desserts. Famously known for Chef Jean Pierre\u2019s selection of slow-cooked roasts in the hearth oven and his artisanal sourdough, which takes three days to make (for the love of carbs), this is a lunch you don\u2019t want to miss.<\/p>\n

Seventeen07 Restaurant at Erinvale Hotel & Estate\"winelands<\/h4>\n

Headed by chef Reinette Hansmann, and boasting an immaculate menu of fresh and seasonal produce foraged from the surrounding farmlands, this beautiful restaurant is located within the Erinvale Hotel,\u00a0 and is a definite yes from us.<\/p>\n

Situated in the Hottentots Holland mountains, Seventeen07 commemorates the date 1707, after the estate was liberated from Willem Adrian Van Der Stel, holding a lot of history which adds to the atmosphere. The buffet offers an enormous array of exciting salads, pat\u00e9s, breads and soup for starters, as well as a selection of roasted meats, potatoes and veg and fresh line fish for mains. If you aren\u2019t already overwhelmed by the sizeable savoury selection, prepare to feast your eyeballs on the eleven or so desserts that are prepared as well – may the odds be ever in your flavour.<\/p>\n

Rotisserie Lunch and Harvest Table Leopards Leap\"Winelands<\/h4>\n

Sip on some crisp white wine in this beautiful, bright and airy establishment, while the kids run free in the gardens – bliss! Leopards Leap<\/a> is one of our favourite Winelands restaurants for Sunday lunch; with their beautiful lawns and expansive mountain views, it\u2019s an ideal spot to bring the whole family with.<\/p>\n

The Rotisserie special lands generously on your plate, offering a selection of juicy meats prepared on their state-of-the-art Rotisol spit, including free-range chicken, lamb, beef and rolled pork belly. This is complemented by their equally liberal-sized Harvest Table which features an array of roasted seasonal vegetables and salads which are sourced on the estate, as well as fresh farm-baked breads and pastries. Desserts also feature in the form of individual mini delectable desserts and cakes.<\/p>\n

The unparalleled views of the Stellenbosch mountains from Dornier sets this beautiful and farm- style restaurant in the creases of jagged mountains, giving an old-world feeling to the place. Do not be fooled by the historical feel of this setting, as the chef at Bodega Restaurant<\/a>\u00a0whips up some pretty contemporary food styles and techniques.<\/p>\n

Their Sunday spesh includes a divine summer menu\u00a0that sings with light, beautiful and colourful flavours. There is a mildly frustrating selection of equally amazing sounding offers in both the starter and main selections, however, we suggest that you try the White Fish Ceviche and Beet Cured Salmon from the starters, and from the mains the drool-worthy Red Miso Glazed Mauritian Sea Bass and tender Rib-Eye. One of our go-to Winelands restaurants for Sunday lunch.<\/p>\n

Good to know:<\/strong> There is also a tapas tasting per two guests with a bottle of selected wine included. This involves quite the array of food and amply provides for two people sharing. Perfect if you feel like going for a late lunch or early dinner (starts at 16h00).<\/p>\n

Winemaker\u2019s Lunch at Rust en Vrede\"Winelands<\/h4>\n

The lush green mountainous setting at the Tasting Room is incomparable. You get a fairytale feel when strolling up the pathway to the restaurant, surrounded by high trees, green lawns and shrubs dotted with colourful hydrangeas.<\/p>\n

The Winemaker\u2019s lunch special actually runs daily; it is not only limited to Sundays and is inclusive of a two-option menu. You can opt for either the Chalmar Sirloin Steak served with French Fries, a garden salad and a glass of Rust en Vrede Syrah, or the Norwegian Salmon served with Baby Potatoes, Asparagus and a glass of Donkiesbaai Steen.<\/p>\n

Good to know:<\/strong> We suggest going when the weather is pleasant and warm to be able to sit outside on the beautiful terrace (offer runs till March 31st).<\/p>\n

Tables at Nitida

For something a little closer to Cape Town, situated on the Durbanville wine route is Nitida Wine Farm. This is a beautiful, warm and welcoming family-oriented farm with two restaurants, Tables at Nitida and Cassia.<\/p>\n

Tables at Nitida is the more relaxed offering and has a jam-packed menu set to excite and inspire. Designed with the motive to create and prepare food in a natural, healthy and delicious way, and to be enjoyed by people who admire food and care for the environment. The restaurant offers quite an extensive menu, with delightfully interesting options such as Aged Coffee Rubbed Sirloin with Chimichurri sauce, Spicy Lamb Flatbread served with Herbed Yoghurt and numerous mezze styled platters and starters to satisfy a snack attack.<\/p>\n

Good to know:<\/strong> Bring your cozzies in summer as the dam is open for paddling and swimming, and keep an eye out for events that are hosted on the estate.<\/p>\n

Vergelegen Wine Estate in Somerset West\"Winelands<\/h4>\n

In all honesty one of the most breathtaking wine estates around. This exquisite landmark was founded in 1707 and has been under the ownership of numerous influential explorers and visionaries. Boasting 17 beautiful gardens, including two rose gardens, one of which holds over 1200 rose bushes of different varieties to smell and tour, and of course the famous ancient camphor trees planted in the early 1700s.<\/p>\n

Vergelegen offers two beautiful restaurants from which to choose from – The Stables, which is their more relaxed bistro-style dining option, and Camphors<\/a>, their signature fine-dining restaurant named after the iconic camphor trees. Both options offer amazing food, however, your choice will be dependent on how snazzy you want your food to be for the day.<\/p>\n
