Leopard\u2019s Leap was conceptualised at\u00a0the turn of the century by winemaker and businessman Hein Koegelenberg. Following its formidable success as a wine producer during the first decade, a decision was made in 2011 to broaden the horizons and, at the same time, create a home where visitors can get close to the values of the Leopard\u2019s Leap brand and experience the Leopard\u2019s Leap identity and principal passions \u2013\u00a0wine, food, conservation and literature.\u00a0The elegant burst of citrus from the Chardonnay is beautifully complemented by the red fruit and raspberry aromas of the Pinot Noir.<\/p>\n
Tasting Notes:<\/strong>\u00a0On the nose aromas of crushed violets, pursued by caramelised black cherries, fennel and allspice \u2013 coriander seeds, cloves, cinnamon \u2013 with a block of dark chocolate last. On the palate, flavours of caramelised black cherries, hints of dark spice and dark chocolate, with velvety tannins that balance the wine for a rewarding experience.\u00a0The emphasis is on the mouthfeel. There is a perfect balance between the acidity, of the Chardonnay and the lingering fruitiness of the Pinot Noir.<\/p>\n
