<\/p>\nNow in its ninth year, the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards is a globally recognised competition dedicated to the design of food. This year, Johannesburg\u2019s finest avant-garde eatery, Urbanologi won the title of best restaurant design in the Middle East and Africa category for 2017 and beverage spaces.<\/p>\n

Urbanologi received the winning prize at the prestigious awards ceremony, held at London\u2019s King\u2019s Cross on 5 October. The tapas styled eatery<\/a> were awarded for their edgy, industrial chic design which was conceptualised and completed by Haldane Martin – a preeminent South African designer renowned for iconic furniture and high-concept interiors.<\/p>\n \u201cIn keeping with the philosophy of our cuisine and to create a space that celebrated creative thinking, we collaborated with local artisanal designer Haldane Martin\u201d. Eben continued, \u201cHaldane, we owe you a big thank you \u2013 we are so proud\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The restaurant is located at the 1 Fox Precinct in Ferreirasdorp, the oldest part of town and the heart of Johannesburg.
