This Maple Pecan Pie recipe is made by <a href=\"https:\/\/test10.co.za\/C\/author\/sarah-graham\/\"><strong>Sarah Graham<\/strong><\/a>; the base is made from a combination of coconut and almond flours and contains no gluten. The filling uses maple syrup and dates for natural sweetness and contains no refined sugars, so it&#8217;s a much better for you and less guilty version \u2013 we love! Serve with a dollop of fresh cream.<\/p>\n<h3>Make Sarah Graham&#8217;s Maple Pecan Pie<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Serves<\/strong>: 4-6<br \/>\n<strong>Difficulty<\/strong>: Easy<br \/>\n<strong>Prep time<\/strong>: 15 minutes<br \/>\n<strong>Cooking time<\/strong>: 30 minutes<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/test10.co.za\/C\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Sarah-Graham-Maple-Pecan-Pie-1x56.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-45915\" src=\"https:\/\/test10.co.za\/C\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Sarah-Graham-Maple-Pecan-Pie-1x56.jpg\" alt=\"Sarah-Graham-Maple-Pecan-Pie\" width=\"1000\" height=\"560\" srcset=\"https:\/\/test10.co.za\/C\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Sarah-Graham-Maple-Pecan-Pie-1x56.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/test10.co.za\/C\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Sarah-Graham-Maple-Pecan-Pie-1x56-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/test10.co.za\/C\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Sarah-Graham-Maple-Pecan-Pie-1x56-940x526.jpg 940w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>What you&#8217;ll need<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Pastry<br \/>\n<\/strong>100 g almond flour<br \/>\n50 g coconut flour<br \/>\n100 g cold butter or chilled coconut oil<br \/>\n1 egg<br \/>\n1 Tbsp coconut sugar<br \/>\npinch of salt<\/p>\n<p><strong>Filling<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u00bd cup pitted dates, soaked in 1 cup hot water for about 10 minutes<br \/>\n\u00bc cup nut butter (I use macadamia or cashew)<br \/>\n\u00bc cup coconut flour<br \/>\n\u00bc cup maple syrup (or rice malt syrup)<br \/>\n\u00bc cup ground almonds<br \/>\n1 tsp vanilla paste<br \/>\n1 tsp ground cinnamon<br \/>\n2 eggs<br \/>\n1 cup pecan nuts, roughly chopped<\/p>\n<h4><strong>What to do<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Preheat the oven to 180 \u00b0C. Lightly grease a 15 cm tart tin.To make the pastry, blitz the ingredients together in a food processor until the mixture forms a dough. Press into the prepared tart tin, using the back of a tablespoon to smooth out the dough if necessary. Prick the base a few times with a fork and blind bake for 15 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove and allow to cool for about 10 minutes before adding the filling.<\/p>\n<p>To make the filling, drain the dates (reserve the liquid), then add all of the ingredients, except the pecan nuts, to a food processor.
