Thelema is one of the most beautiful wine farms to visit in the Stellenbosch area. Set amongst great old oak trees and with spectacular mountain views and colourful, noisy peacocks. Situated at the top of the Helshoogte Pass with elevations that range from 370 to 640 meters above sea level and mainly south-facing slopes, it is also one of the highest and coolest estates in the area. The high altitude and the deep red soils are ideal for premium quality wine\u00a0grape production.<\/p>\n
Winemaker, Rudi Schultz, a born and bred Somerset Western, joined Thelema in December 2000 and has firmly rooted himself at this property, assisting to create a world renowned wine stable \u2013 with Thelema owner Gyles Webb in the roll as Cellar Master.<\/p>\n
On the nose
\n<\/b>This newly released 2014 Thelema Merlot shows bright, red fruit and hints of spice on the nose.<\/p>\n
On the palate
\n<\/b>Concentrated flavours on the palate and soft, polished tannins. Hints of dark chocolate complete this wonderfully balanced wine. The wine will develop well for 6 years from vintage date.<\/p>\n
