Cape Town\u2019s one and only dedicated comedy club, Jou Ma Se Comedy Club, opened in November last year in its new home at The Pumphouse \u2013 setting the scene for Cape Town comedy to grow even more than it has already.<\/p>\n
The Pumphouse dates back to 1882 and is situated in Dock Road at the V&A Waterfront. It is used to pump water from the Robinson Dry Dock (the world\u2019s oldest working dry dock) and is also the building where the first dynamo was installed to help illuminate Table Bay Harbour.<\/p>\n
The Jou Ma Se Comedy Club team worked tirelessly, transforming this historical landmark into a sophisticated venue which will host top comics and showcase the best South African and international talent throughout the year. With new acts on all the time, you will never hear the same joke twice.<\/p>\n
In addition to this world class entertainment, visitors can enjoy delicious food prepared by none other than Sue-Ann Allen from MasterChef SA 2012. \u201cWe’ll be serving tapas, gourmet salads, pizzas and then some traditional dishes like steak and fries\u201d, says owner and funnyman, Kurt Schoonraad.
