Let the bluebird of happiness lead you over the rainbow when the annual Spring Weekend comes to the pretty little village of Bot River on 01-03 September and a kaleidoscope of exciting wine, food and genuine, country-style fun explodes.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span>Just like the rainbow-theme, it has adopted this year, the people of Overberg have lined up a dazzling spectrum of activities and fun that showcase the best of the region. In celebration of the awakening of nature in all its forms, all the participating wine farms will throw open their doors for visitors to taste their cellar gems and unique local produce through convivial farm hopping and pantry shopping.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span>\u201cThe wineries of Bot River are truly a welcoming community and the Spring Weekend is one of our favourite occasions to showcase our farms and the riches to be found on them,\u201d says Melissa Nelsen of Genevieve MCC.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n \u00a0<\/span>\u201cThis is what makes Bot River a real rainbow village, a place we\u2019re proud to call our home. It\u2019s a celebration of the diversity of our village in all its magnificent colour and swag.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The tone for the jam-packed weekend programme will be set at the Best of Bot Wines exclusive dinner on Friday, 01 September. The event stars Forage<\/a><\/strong> restaurant executive chef Gregory Henderson, renowned for roaming local pastures in search of ingredients for his indigenous dining experiences; Higgo Jacobs, head of the SA Association of Sommeliers, and fellow sommelier Ewan Mackenzie. Together they will present an expert food and wine pairing showcase, which offers the perfect context leading into the weekend. It takes place at Wildekrans Wine Estate. Tickets are R850pp, must be purchased through Quicket,\u00a0and include a Spring Weekend pass.<\/span><\/p>\n Then, on Saturday and Sunday, Bot River\u2019s participating wineries will turn on the charm, each representing a colour of the rainbow. They include newcomer to the Bot River wine family, Arcangeli Family Vineyards; Barton Vineyards; Villion Wines; Luddite Wines; Genevieve MCC; Beaumont Family Wines; Gabrielskloof Wine Estate; Rivendell Estate & Vineyards; Paardenkloof Estate; and, Maremmana Estate.<\/span><\/p>\n\n
