We raise our stein\u2019s to the speedy approach of the annual TOPS at SPAR Bierfest, as this year\u2019s celebration of froth, food, fun and friends.<\/p>\n
TOPS at SPAR Bierfest -in association with Tsogo Sun, J\u00e4germeister, Gearhouse, Dryver, Good Fellas and Jiguja – will be hosted inside a 4 000-seater Bavarian Brauhaus festooned with festival d\u00e9cor direct from M\u00fcnchen. Modeled on the much-loved Munich Oktoberfest, the ever-popular TOPS at SPAR Bierfest will once again serve up it\u2019s unique \u2018celebration of the suds\u2019, recreating the revelry, tradition and, of course, the tastes of this epic annual celebration.<\/p>\n
The celebration of all things frosty, frothy and fun will get the German-inspired party started in Durban at Suncoast from 4th \u2013 5th September. Then continue on in Johannesburg at Montecasino from 9 \u2013 11 October, and again from the 16 \u2013 17 October. Then finally in Cape Town at Newlands Brewery from the 6-8 November.<\/p>\n
Bier lovers and event-goers are encouraged to dress in customary costumes like dirndls and lederhosen for this ultimate celebration of culture, family and friends.<\/p>\n
You and your friends attempt an array of traditional Oktoberfest challenges. Visitors can also look forward to a range of activities and competitions such as the \u2018Tapping of the Keg\u2019, the \u2018Mass-Heben Competition\u2019 and the \u2018Snuff Cannon\u2019 \u2013 as well as the inevitable \u2018Best-Dressed\u2019 competition.<\/p>\n
Master Brewers from specialist brewery No. 3 Fransen Street will also be located onsite for tasting and beer education.<\/p>\n
