Five generations ago, the Sadler family started brewing and distilling some of the finest beers and spirits in Birmingham\u2019s famous Black Country, known for its coal mines, foundries, and factories during the industrial revolution. With their hardworking ethos, they battled through war and economic depression to keep the family business alive. One of these distinguished spirits is Peaky Blinder Irish Whiskey.<\/p>\n

Today the Sadler\u2019s distillery is run by Chris Sadler, a direct relative of Billy Kimber, a 20th-century gang leader of the Birmingham Boys.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Peaky Blinder Irish Whiskey<\/h4>\n

Launched in South Africa in 2021, the whiskey is crafted from a fine blend of grain and single-malt Irish whiskey that has been aged in bourbon casks. The result is a bold yet smooth triple-distilled blended Irish whiskey with a fruity nose of apricots and orange peel, a touch of sweet vanilla and honey on the palate and finished with a hint of chocolate and cinnamon.<\/p>\n

As the rumour goes, members of the notorious Peaky Blinder gang regularly visited Sadler\u2019s pubs and establishments at the turn of the 20th century.<\/p>\n

As a nod to this, the bottle label features the mug shot of Stephen McHickie, a prominent Peaky Blinder gang member who was infamously photographed after being charged with breaking into a draper\u2019s shop<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

St Patrick’s Day<\/h4>\n

Did you know that leprechauns are one of the reasons you\u2019re supposed to wear green on St. Patrick\u2019s Day<\/a>? The tradition is tied to folklore that says wearing green makes you invisible to leprechauns, which like to pinch anyone they can see.\"\"<\/p>\n

Whether you believe in leprechauns or not, St. Patrick\u2019s Day is a great holiday celebrated worldwide by the Irish to honour their culture and heritage. It\u2019s also renowned for its pints and whiskey.<\/p>\n

Try the Irish Mule<\/h4>\n

In true Irish fashion, why not try a whiskey cocktail called an Irish Mule, a combination of ginger beer, citrus and Irish whiskey. Or better yet, drink it neat at room temperature in a lowball glass. Many aficionados will add a few drops of water which enhances the aromas and softens the finish. An Irish whiskey with a uniquely English story, Peaky Blinder has a rich and vivid history dating back to 1861.<\/p>\n

50ml Peaky Blinder Irish Whiskey<\/strong>
\n\u00bd can ginger beer
\nIce
\nLime wedge
\nMint sprig<\/p>\n

Add the ice to a whiskey tumbler and pour in the whiskey and ginger beer. Garnish with a lime wedge and mint sprig.<\/p>\n
